The reason behind the numbers
Clarity should
be free.
A new job. A mortgage renewal. A loan you want to pay down. Sometimes you just need to do the math, without giving someone your phone number.
Built from a familiar frustration
DollarMath began with searching for calculators, building spreadsheets, and running into tools that wanted contact details before showing a useful answer. It’s a place to explore financial decisions on your own terms, and share useful tools with anyone who needs them.
Canadian context matters
Mortgage conventions, provincial taxes, and tax years change the answer. Mortgage payments, take-home pay, RRSP savings, loan repayment, and compound interest tools are available now. The tax tools cover all 13 Canadian provinces and territories using reviewed 2026 rules. Sell, Buy & Move includes Ontario, Toronto and BC transfer-tax estimates, with quoted regional taxes elsewhere. See the official sources and calculation scope.
Your inputs are yours
Calculator inputs stay in your browser. Saving a comparison is optional and uses this browser’s local storage. There’s no account requirement or lead form. Optional page analytics loads only after you allow it in Privacy choices; calculator values are excluded. Read the privacy details.
More currencies, with clear scope
The US, UK, and Irish editions offer savings and loan planning in USD, GBP, and EUR. Those tools use generic mathematics with explicit rate conventions. Local tax, payroll, account allowances, and mortgage rules need their own verified models. Switching region does not convert your numbers, and saved comparisons stay separate for each currency.
Understand the estimate
Every calculator should explain its formulas, cite its sources, and show where an estimate ends. Use these tools to ask better questions and compare possibilities. They do not provide personalized financial advice.
Help keep the math open.
We want to fund DollarMath through optional contributions, like buying the creator a coffee, and unobtrusive, clearly marked advertising. Financial inputs will never be used to target those ads or passed to advertisers.
The contribution link is coming soon. For now, sharing the tools is a great way to help.
No payment or donation is required to use a calculator.
