How does this EUR loan repayment estimate work?
The loan model converts the selected nominal or effective annual rate into equal payment periods, adds financed fees to the starting balance, and applies recurring and one-time extra payments. Upfront fees affect total cash paid. This is a generic amortization model; published APRs, daily interest and local lender terms may differ.

Common questions
What is available for Ireland?
This release offers generic savings and loan planning in EUR. Irish income tax, USC, PRSI, savings taxes and Irish mortgage rules are not modelled.
Should I enter an advertised APR?
A headline APR can include fees and may use a different calculation convention. Enter the contract rate using the matching nominal or effective convention, and model fees separately only when they are not already reflected. This tool does not calculate regulatory APR or a lender’s settlement quote.
Are saved plans converted when I switch currencies?
No. EUR comparisons are saved separately from other regions. Changing regions does not convert balances or reuse another currency’s saved plan. Calculations run in the browser, without requiring an account.
Are extra loan payments always allowed without a penalty?
No. The calculator assumes extra principal payments are permitted and does not automatically apply prepayment charges. Check the loan agreement for restrictions, timing and charges before making a larger payment. Enter known upfront or financed fees separately.

Contract rate, compounding and fees
A nominal annual rate is divided by 12, 26 or 52 for the selected payment frequency. An effective annual rate uses (1 + annual rate)^(1 / periods per year) − 1. The regular payment is P × i / (1 − (1 + i)^−n). At zero interest it is principal divided by the number of payments. With €10,000 at a nominal 6% for five years, the model gives €193.33 monthly before fees.
Financed fees are added to the starting balance and earn interest. Upfront fees are paid separately and included in total cash paid. Total borrowing cost is interest plus both fee types. Do not count the same fee twice. A published APR may include charges and regulatory conventions that this tool does not reproduce.
Extra payments and final rounding
Interest and scheduled payments are rounded to cents each period. Recurring extras and a one-time payment reduce principal after that period’s interest. Extras are capped at the remaining amount, and the final payment settles cent-rounding residue. Frequency changes recalculate the payment over the same term; they are not an automatic acceleration.
Regional scope

These are generic educational models, not account-specific outcomes, legal eligibility checks or lender quotes. Dates are equal periods rather than actual calendar schedules. Saved comparisons are separate for each region. No currency conversion is performed. Calculator inputs are not added to URLs, Analytics or advertising requests.
